how to play rummy
Most card players Know “how to play rummy” as it is one of the favourite card games. It is so popular that 9 0ut 10 choose rummy as their favourite card game. Now, as rummy is touching new heights with the rise of online gaming, it has become very competitive.
So, to be good at playing rummy, you must understand how Points and scoring system work in online rummy.

Let’s get straight into it...

All the face cards and 10s have 10 Points (Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks and 10s).
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 have the same value as their face value like 2 of spade will give you 2 points, 3 will give you 3 and so on.
Joker or wild cards have 0 Points.

The objective of the game is to make a valid meld and declare first to win the game. Now, there are two popular scoring systems.

1. The winner gets 0 Points and rest of the Players get the number of points as per the cards they are holding in hand (pure sequence is exempted from scoring). That is,
Face cards and 10s = 10
2 to 9 = Face value
Jokers = 0

So, the Player having minimum points is declared as the winner and the rest of the players are eliminated if they hit the pre-decided mark of 100, 200  and so on.

2. Now on Gamentio, we have a very unique system of scoring, i.e. the winner will get the sum of points the other players are holding in their hand. The points get deducted from the losing players stack. The points deducted are counted as per loose cards (which are not part of sets or sequences).

The points scoring is the same as per the value of cards as we already talked about.

However, there is a slight change in tournaments. In the beginning, all the players will be allotted 400 chips. The losers’ chips will be deducted according to the stage of the tournament, so if it is the first round the number of points deducted will be based on loose cards points in the hands. Deducted pointed are multiplied by the current round. For example, if it is the first round and you have 7777 256, then the points deducted will be 13 *1, i.e 13.
If 2nd round then 13*2= 26
If 3rd 13*3= 39
And so on…

Everyone needs to maintain the minimum points (chips) to proceed to the next round. For 2nd round, it is 200, 3rd round 300, 4th 400 and so on.

The other way of scoring is when the other players are not playing or missed their turn. In that case, 100 points will be deducted each time if the player is not playing. If not played for 4 consecutive time, the player will be thrown out.

This is last but least way of scoring. If someone declares a wrong meld, then they lose the points in hand multiplied by the stage (round) of the tournament. This is a unique of points scoring, the player with the maximum number of chips (after the final round which lasts for 40 minutes) will be declared as the winner. So, what are you waiting for? Play Now! And win big!
