GIN RUMMY

Gin rummy is one of the most eminent Rummy type which is usually played between two players. The gameplay is pretty simple and it is also one of the easiest forms of rummy game to learn. The objective of the game is to build a hand that is made up of sets and sequences.

Each player gets 10 cards.  A player start by drawing one card from the remaining deck. After a card is drawn, he must discard one card. The gameplay continues like this, with players drawing and discarding cards. In order to win, a player must score 100 points. As soon as a player reaches 100 points, the game is over.

Some basic concepts that are used in Gin Rummy are:-

Knocking, in Gin Rummy means to end the round by discarding a card and putting it face down.

The cards in your hand that are not part of a meld are known as Deadwood.

Layoff means to add your deadwood cards to an opponent's melds.

Dummy Rummy

The objective of this rummy type is to get rid of as many cards as possible by forming sets and sequences. The player who manages to discard all the cards has a score of zero. The winner will be the one who has the least points in the end.
Each player is dealt 13 cards (similar to Indian version of  Rummy). A maximum of 2- 4 players can play the game at once. Until one of the players forms sets or sequences and discards every card, the game continues.

In Dummy Rummy players make use of jokers and wildcards to form their hand. But these cards can cause you high penalty if you fail to make valid melds. The value of players’ cards is totalled and one with the lowest score wins.

Indian Rummy

Indian Rummy is one of the most played type of rummy. Any celebrations in India are incomplete till the time a game of Rummy is played. Indian Rummy is also known as a 13 card game as every player is dealt with 13 cards each. A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 players can play the game.

Every player picks or discards a card from the closed or open deck to make sets or sequences. The objective is to form right combinations of 4, 3, 3 and 3 cards. To win the game, making one sequence (minimum) is compulsory. Players are also required to have a pure sequence,  i.e., formed without using any jokers. A player declares his hand in Indian Rummy after melding all the 13 cards in sets or sequences.

The game is so popular that many social gaming websites are coming up and offering rummy online. To keep the players enthralled, they are offering hassle-free gaming environment such as players can log-in from any place at any time, and there is no need to look for a gaming partner.
